WATCHING LIFE GROW

This month we will be looking at growing and lifecycles, with a trip to Garsons Farm planned. Our caterpillars will be arriving at the end of the month, and we will be watching them transform.  We will also be looking at ourselves, as part of our family and how we grow. Father’s Day will soon be upon us, watch out for some special creations.

WEATHER

Hopefully, the sun will continue. A reminder to pop your child’s hats in their bag and a spare set of clothes is always advisable. As well as wellies and a light rain jacket.  I’m sure we will all be splashing in the paddling pool to keep cool and water play is always on offer.

SENSES

I will be encouraging the children to use their senses to explore the world around them. Our children have a natural curiosity to touch and use their other senses to explore this magnificent world we live in. It is our responsibility to encourage and manage this behaviour in our children, so they experience, learn, and grow whilst still respecting our natural habitat.

SPORTS DAY

Tuesday 15th July 9am at Pixham Cricket Field. Please bring your child along at 9am if it is not their usual day.

Thursday 17th July 2025, is our last day of term. Please join us for our annual BBQ, 5pm onwards. Please confirm if you are attending and any dietary requirements.

MENU

The menu is on the parent information board if you would like a paper or emailed copy just ask.

AND FINALLY

Reports will be sent out at the end of the month, if you would like to discuss anything please let your keyperson know and they will book a time.

SPRINGTIME GROWTH & GARDEN EXPLORERS

This month we will be looking at Spring and growing. I have lots of activities and outings planned for May. We will be visiting the garden centres to buy our seeds and bulbs for planting. We will also be creating a herb and sensory garden to help us use all our senses. We will be looking at ourselves and how we grow. As well as visiting the National Trust parks, woods, parks, the library, and Wisley Gardens as well as Tuesday Toddles group.

SCHOOL SETTLING DAYS

Please can you tell us in advance, when your child's settling days are, so we can plan our days accordingly.

HATS FOR SUNNY DAYS

As we are looking forward to warmer and sunnier weather – please remember to provide changes of clothes and a hat they are happy to wear (no flip flops please). We are out and about even more, and water play will be a big part of our experiences. Please do not send the children in special clothes as we intend to get mucky and wet.  As the weather is so unpredictable at the moment, please have thin splash suits and wellies in the bags.

AND FINALLY SHOW & TELL

If your child wants to bring anything from home to complement any of our themes or just to show, then please feel free to do so. It is a great way to encourage the children to talk and share their thoughts and experiences.
